What to do with those empty 6 liter water bottles?
Being environmentally conscious is difficult. It is a choice that you have to uphold everyday. Before, I would not think twice about buying bottled water and then disposing of the bottle -- in the proper recycling bin, of course. Now, I find it difficult to even let go of it because I know that I will be able to find another way of reusing it before I finally have to recycle it.
In the past, I used bigger plastic bottles to plant seeds or transfer cuttings into.

Planter that I made from a Sprite liter bottle. I put holes on the area around the neck of the bottle to help drain the excess water. Before putting soil into it, I put pebbles to hold the soil in. Put in the soil, plant your seeds, and put it into the other half of the bottle, which acts as the water collector. |
Today, I was inspired when I saw a 6 liter water bottle cut 3/4 of the way. Hmmm... I can make something out of this! And I did! A nifty container for your odds and ends and what nots!
What other ways can we use these big water bottles? Send me your ideas and photos! The more ideas, the less rubbish we will have!
